The Orchard Room

A beamed double under the eaves, looking over the orchard, with a deep window seat made for a long afternoon and a book.

The room sits at the quiet end of the first floor, low-ceilinged and warm, with old timbers overhead and a brass bed dressed in soft wool. In spring the orchard below is all blossom; in autumn the smell of windfall apples drifts up through the open window.

Tea is laid each afternoon, and the orangery is a short way down the back stair for breakfast.
